four corners fabric...

i was beyond thrilled when simple simon and company creators asked me to join their four corners fabric collection tour!  fans of their work, i knew this collection from riley blake designs would be nothing short of awesome, so i couldn't say no!  today is the launch of their tour and i'm up first!

i love how bold and graphic the collection is and was immediately drawn to the black color ways.  the metallic accents on a few of the prints is a wonderful surprise.  the black and gold border print is unique and so versatile (don't tell anyone, but i'm saving it for a special home dec project).

i decided a wonky star mini quilt would be perfect and depending on how you piece some of the prints, they create the illusion of a curve.  it's kind of fabulous!

this was also my first time machine binding.  after watching the missouri start quilt company machine binding tutorial (maybe, just maybe a few hundred times!) i was ready to dive off the deep end.  trust me, i prefer hand binding, but going slow, i conquered my fears and it turned out pretty well (if i say so myself!).

out later this fall/winter, the four corners fabric collection is perfect for any project.
