Fairy Edith Fabric...

Do you get excited about new fabric collections? I know I do!

So guess what? I have a new fabric collection to share with you today. And this one’s extra special!

Let me introduce you to Fairy Edith by Amanda Castor of Material Girl Quilts! This is Amanda’s first fabric collection for Riley Blake Designs! Amanda and I met years ago through the Modern Quilt Guild. She’s a true quilty friend and a joy to be around. I was so excited to hear that she joined the RBD family and being with her during her first quilt market booth was just as exciting.

Fairy Edith is a tribute to her great-grandmother Fairy Edith Miller. Just like my great-grandmother and grandmother, Amanda’s also quilted. She said (her) “perfect hand stitches still amaze me to this day.” Fairy Edith features beautiful florals, geometric prints, and metallic in a range of pinks, light greens, and blues. You’re going to love it. I’m particularly fond of her lattice, dot, and bouquet prints. They’re so good, y’all.

Outside of being a fabulous fabric designer (who’s second line is out early next year), she’s also a wife, mom, has a full time job outside of quilting (like me!) and a really cool pattern designer. Heading South is one of my favorite patterns of hers and besides churn dash quilt blocks, the flying geese quilt block is one of my go-to’s.

Leila Gardunia’s Scrappy Geese FPP blocks are the perfect match for Fairy Edith. I love how unique and magical each block is. I have a few projects in mind, so you’ll have to stay tuned.

In the meantime, check out Fairy Edith at your favorite quilt shop today.
