celebrate your pet w/the cricut maker...

gotcha day?

birthday?

or just because?

these pawesome projects are puurrfect for celebrating your pet, especially with the cricut maker. you can make this adorable mini quilt and snack containers in a snap with several of cricut’s handy-dandy tools!

and since there are over 60,000 images in cricut’s design space, if you can dream it, you can make it! the maker cuts through just about any material and their premium vinyl, makes this project especially cool!

here’s what i made the mini quilt with:

  1. the hey mister fabric collection from riley blake designs.

  2. confetti cottons and stripes basics from riley blake designs.

  3. the flying geese foundation paper piece template i designed in cricut’s design space.

  4. the dog house foundation paper piece template i designed in cricut’s design space.

  5. the sashing is 6 1/2’’ x 3 1/2’’ and the cornerstone blocks are 3 1/2’’ square.

  6. auriful invisible thread for quilting.

start by sewing the flying geese and doghouse blocks. then starting at the top, sew the sashing to the blocks until you have finished the quilt top. baste, quilt, and bind as desired. it came together in a snap and the checker board quilting really made it pop! i love it. and let’s give a shout out to cricut’s bright pad, it’s great for FPP!

*this project uses 1/4’’ seam allowances. press your seams to one side.

**use 90/14 sewing machine needle when FPP and a 1.4 stitch length. this will make removing the paper easy!

here’s what i made the snack containers with:

  1. clear plastic pails from your local arts and crafts store.

  2. container with lid from your local arts and crafts store.

  3. cricut’s premium vinyl-removable in white. i purchased a sampler pack. you need about 6’’.

  4. cricut’s stronggrip transfer tape. the stronggrip worked the best.

  5. the puppy party artwork i pulled together in cricut’s design space.

remember, vinyl doesn’t need to be “mirrored” in design space. i learned that the hard way. haha. the stronggrip transfer tap will make applying the artwork to the snack containers pretty darn easy!

edie and edna would love to celebrate their birthday’s with these adorable projects!

the snack containers would also make the perfect gift to give to another pet-friend. if you don’t have a dog, don’t worry, there’s plenty of cricut artwork for a wide variety of pets too!

don’t forget, march 23rd is national puppy day and april 11th is national pet day. and if you want to celebrate for an entire month—may is national pet month! but let’s be real, every day at my house is pet day! hehe!
