Quilt the Rainbow Book...

Amber Johnson’s new book, Quilt the Rainbow is AHHH-MAZING!

Quilt the Rainbow features 10 one of kind quilt patterns — all designed to help you work through your stash.

Amber is a master at picking a color from the rainbow and building a cohesive project bundle. I’m always so inspired! If you’re curious and perhaps maybe a tad-bit hesitant about building your own project bundle, don’t worry! Amber shares tips on how to choose the right fabrics and suggestions for organizing your scraps.

I fell in love with Amber’s Scrapology quilt.

Instead of choosing a color from the rainbow to make my version, I decided to use the Old Fashioned Christmas collection from My Mind’s Eye for Riley Blake Designs. I also incorporated Confetti Cotton Solids (Off White) and one of the prints from my Seasonal Basics collection for Riley Blake Designs.

You could say my version of Scrapology is two colors from the rainbow — red and green.

I chose a combination of blocks that would give me the maximum punch — creating secondary block patterns. Three blocks across and three blocks down for a wonderful 30” square mini quilt.

Y’all, this quilt is truly versatile!

I pieced and quilted the Scrapology mini quilt using my Baby Lock Journey. With the optional Quarter-Inch Quilting or Patchwork Foot with Guide and the Riley Blake Designs Tailor’s Clapper, my seams are flat and beautiful!

You can purchase your copy of Amber's book in her Etsy Shop and other online resources, including her publisher, Martingale.
